The light of the world, the city on a hill, is a community burning with brightness that no one “with eyes to see” can miss.
There’s nothing more disgusting to me than seeing “churchy Christians” amid a dark and hurting world. The “churchy Christian” professes to be the light of the world, yet possesses no luminous presence that pierces into the darkness of the hopeless, providing a crystal clear ray of hope. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Why WALK in the light? Living things that become stagnant will soon be dead and stinking — we must keep moving.
The good news is, the light is available to all, even the “churchy Christian” can get ahold of the light and be redeemed. “Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.”
